Metaphysical poems are related to metaphysical with or intelligence that when someone connects something with any theory or subject. Sincerely, when we were talking about metaphysical poems in our literature class, i thought that the subject was very interesting and very unique. With every subject that we talk in our class, literature never ceases to amaze me for sure. Even though poems that we were talking were all related to metaphysical poetry, they were all different from each other. At the first subject of metaphysical poetry The Flea by John Donne was our first poem. It was about a flea that were connecting two lover one another by their blood, even it was one sided love. Furthermore the flea was told to be the lovers marriage temple by the poet. For the second subject of metaphysical poetry Holy Sonnets by John Donne was our second poem. This poem was about death, but not like most of us the poet John Donne was not afraid of death even he personificated death. He thought that death was not something that we should be afraid of, even he said if we die and get rotten without our bones or flesh we can be more free. Our last subject of metaphysical poetry was Easter Wings by George Herbert. This poem was kind of the most interesting one with its appearance and its content. The shape of the poem was very similar to wings as its obvious by its name. Apart from its shape the poem was very unique by its content as well. In the poet, George Herbert talked about how we were pure when we first born and how we become contaminated by life.Whenever the poet feels weak he shortened the sentences and whenever he feels strong he extended his sentences.
To sum up, our class was very enjoyable with these poems and metaphysical differences located in these poems. With every word i read in literature, i'm beginning to believe that literature is so enjoyable and so deep that i can never get tired of reading it. Im looking forward to see our next topic.
